Wednesday, January 27th at 11:45 a.m. Misty G. Wilson, 38, of Flora was issued a local ordinance citation for Parking or Storage of Inoperable Vehicle.

Thursday, January 28th at 11:12 a.m. Michael Wayne Neff, 27, of Florence, AL was arrested on warrants from Clay County for Failure to Appear on original charge of Theft of Vehicle and a Jackson County Warrant for Failure to Appear on original charge of Driving on Revoked License. Neff was unable to post bond and was transported to Clay County Jail.

Thursday, January 28th at 3:10 p.m. Michael W. Persinger Jr., 28, of Flora was issued a citation for Speeding following a traffic stop at S. Mill and E. Maple.

Thursday, January 28th at 3:40 p.m. Stacey L. Simpson, 29, of Mason was issued a citation for Failure to Wear Seat Belt following a traffic stop in the 1000 block of S. State.

Thursday, January 28th at 9:02 p.m. the department investigated an accident in the 200 block of E. Washington involving a 1986 General Motors pickup operated by a 16 year old male of Flora and a 2002 Pontiac Coupe operated by Bryan W. Akers, 46, of Lawrenceville. No injuries were reported.

Friday, January 29th at 1:23 a.m. Derek R. Hilderbrand, 27, of Louisville was issued citations for DUI, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Improper Lane Usage following a traffic stop in the 1700 block of N. State.

Friday, January 29th at 7:53 p.m. the department investigated an accident in the 1700 block of N. State involving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix operated by Cole M. Honeyman, 18, of Xenia and a ditch and several culverts. Honeyman was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed/Accident.

Saturday, January 30th at 10:52 p.m. Shannon D. Carrell, 43, of Flora was arrested on a Clay County Warrant for Failure to Appear on original charge of Driving While License Revoked. Carrell posted cash bond and was released with a court date. Saturday, January 30th at 11:40 p.m. Pamela J. Robinson, 35, of Flora was arrested for Disorderly Conduct following an incident in the 100 block of East North Avenue. Robinson posted cash bond and was released.

Monday, February 1st at 10:41 p.m. Arie Kathryn Overocker, 36, of Athens, TN was issued citations for Operating Uninsured Vehicle and No Valid Drivers License following a traffic stop at Vincennes and Austin.

Tuesday, February 2nd at 11:16 p.m. Chad E. Ellis, 36, of Flora was arrested on a Clay County Warrant for Failure to Appear on original charge of Criminal Damage to Property and Pike County Warrant for Failure to Appear on original charge of Obstructing a Peace Officer and Operation of Uninsured Vehicle. Ellis was unable to post bond and was transported to Clay County Jail.

Tuesday, February 2nd at 1:00 a.m. Dustin A. Gragert, 29, of Flora and John A. Walker, 37, of Flora were issued local ordinance citations for Disturbing the Peace following an incident at Huck’s Parking Lot.

All persons are merely accused of the charges against them and are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.


  • Chief John Nicholson would like to announce
    that City Police Officers will be participating in an
    alcohol enforcement campaign.  The police will
    have extra officers on duty and will be
    conducting road side safety checks as well as
    saturation patrols between January 29th and
    February 14th.  These dates coincide with the
    upcoming Super Bowl and Valentine’s
    weekend.  This funding if through a grant from
    the Illinois Department of Transportation.
